Internet Explorer payment problem fixed - New Year with new resolutions and we have addressed the payment problem completely.
Well ushering in the new year with a permanent fix. Yes Internet explorer works perfectly aswell as with firefox - We had a person who kindly brought this to our attention and we now have corrected this problem. - the problem was down to Internet Explorer not automatically transferring people to the payment page - infact the 'continue' to payment button wasnt even functioning, but the firefox browser was just fine. We approached our payment processor who is SAGE PAY - eventually we got the patch programmed in.
PROBLEM: Internet Explorer wouldnt continue on to the payment page.
Ok just alittle history lesson here - Protx was the credit processor we was using to clear payments and to do security checks and handle the whole security along with the safeguarding of customers cards. They have done a very good job and their services are being used on a global basis, infact some of you probably have used their systems a number of times and didnt know you were. Moving along to when SAGE bought up Protx...
During a change over of payment protocols from version 2.22 (Protx) to version 2.23 (Sage Pay) - an update for the credit card processing system on our end caused the credit card details to not be forwarded at all if you was using Internet Explorer, we had one person who percieved this to be a security lapse and even said this was a security risk with their details and bank account being exposed! We just want to apologise to them for not being unable to complete their transaction but without knowledge or providing any clue as to why they came to this conclusion... we'll only find out if and when details are supplied to us, however we did take the advice of a very helpful and patient customer who failed to buy on two occasions! Imagine that, coming back for a 3rd time and even pointing out that they had to use another friends computer and was about to order from somewhere else!
Thank you for your clear concern and also completing your order - we would like to say that AT NO TIME was any existing customer under any threat nor was there any compromise to the payment system. Simply because any person who has a transaction to buy our product, their details and card details are NOT STORED on our server, most of our processing is actually carried out by SAGE PAY which is why you are transferred using SSL encryption technology to the SAGE PAY servers, at no point do we even get to see your credit card let alone store any information about your card or your pin or security passwords. Now I am not going to debate the virtues of using on-server card processing or letting the credit card processor do the transaction on both of our behalfs, but I do know that SAGE PAY handle the encryption and the delivery of funds from your card. They are in effect the middle guy who makes sure we get the payment and makes sure you are able to do it safely, we pay Sage Pay to do their work and processing whilst you can buy safely from us.
We do not know the passcode to read the SSL encryption nor would Sage Pay tell us, this is safer and security is provided for in the form of the customer interfacing directly with the card processing server. In all eventualities even if a shop was processing credit card on their servers, they would need to be processed by Sage Pay just to clear the funds and if your details were never sent out - then your payment never left your card and therefore the only security concern left is the machine you are using (Compromised systems, Virus's, keylogging, malware etc etc) . We always STRONGLY suggest you have an updated ANTI-VIRAL solution AND ANTI-MALWARE solution being used on your computer on a scheduled and daily basis. Bottom line is: If you never reached the payment screen where you had to enter your card details, then your details and payment were not even sent at all and didnt get transmitted!
But that is not our line of reasoning or passing on the buck or just dodging the issue at hand but we are just stating that everyone is safe and you can even check out the security SSL certificate yourslef but clicking on the little golden padlock during the transaction at the bottom right hand side of your screen. You will find that it is indeed pointing to the Sage Pay servers and this is verified by VeriSign, Inc.
Anyway - Thanking both people for bringing this up and wishing both and ALL OUR CUSTOMERS a happy filled new year.
May prosperity, happiness and peace flow and follow wherever you go. And cordyceps sinensis too!
